SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A report released by Stanford University states that by the end of this decade, more than 1.2 million people in the U.S. will die of an opioid-related death if new measures aren't taken to quell the problem. Lawmakers, along with nonprofits, recovery experts and first responders are working together to fight the battle. On Thursday, WSAV was joined by a panel to discuss the problem and some solutions: Congressman Buddy Carter from the 1st District of Georgia, along with his Democratic opponent Patti Hewitt.
