Oct 03, 2024
NORFOLK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Norfolk Police Department said it is warning residents to be aware after an “uptick” in scams and thefts reported in the last two weeks.
The department said that the theft of a package from a porch occurred on Sept. 23, while a trailer was stolen from a construction site on Boardman Street on Sept. 28.
In addition, residents have reported receiving messages demanding PayPal or cryptocurrency payments in order to not be charged for a purchase, including a resident who was defrauded out of $10,000 on Sept. 30.
The department said that residents should have high-value items delivered to a store for pickup and require packages be signed in order to be dropped off.
Residents should also report any scam they believe they are a victim of to 508-528-3206.
