BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — Eyes to the sky Thursday, October 3rd, North Dakota — the Northern Lights will be out and about! The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a strong solar flare event for tonight and tomorrow. They say flares of this magnitude are not common and can cause disruptions to our satellite system. Chief Meteorologist Kenny Miller says we can expect clear skies Thursday night which will allow northerners to see the auroras. To see them just head out of town, away from the city lights, and just look up.If you see them, be sure to send your pictures our way, we would love to use them on air and online.
