BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Sheriff's Office is hiring and those interested have a chance to earn their badge. Lori Meza and Senior Deputy Williams with KCSO joined 17 News at Noon to discuss a string of hiring events in October. Oct. 10, at the Ridgecrest Branch Library located on 131 E. Las Flores Ave. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with onsite testing beginning at noon. Oct. 24, at the Kerr McGee Center located on 100 W. California Ave. This event in Ridgecrest will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 24, at Cerro Coso Community College located at 3000 College Heights Boulevard. The time for this event is to be determined. Oct. 30, at America's Job Center located at 540 W. Perdew Ave. This event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with onsite testing beginning at 10 a.m. Watch the full video in the player above for more information. Meza also said the department will hold a Halloween Trunk-or-treat on Oct. 25, at Kerr McGee Center, located at 100 W. California Ave. in Ridgecrest. This event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
