BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern Family Health Care (KFHC) and the Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center (CBCC) will hold a free mammogram event this Saturday at CBCC's Breast Health Center. The walk-in-event, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 6501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, open to KFHC members aged 50 to 74 who have not had a mammogram in the past year, aims to promote early detection of breast cancer. Valadao, Salas critique each other’s records during CA-22 debate The first 50 members who complete their mammograms will receive a $100 gift certificate to The Bra Shoppe, a local retailer in Bakersfield. "Routine mammograms are one of the most effective ways to detect breast cancer in its earlystages, often before physical symptoms appear," said Dr. Martha Tasinga, Chief Medical Officer of Kern Health Systems. " Early detection saves lives. We want to ensure that qualifying members have the opportunity to receive this potentially life-saving screening and understand the critical role they play in breast health."
