PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- A total of eight vehicles were destroyed after a fire sparked in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Woodbridge on Wednesday. Shortly before 4 a.m. on Oct. 2, Prince William County firefighters were called to the Summerland Heights apartments after multiple cars were reported on fire. However, the blaze left eight vehicles destroyed and an additional three vehicles damaged. Officials said leaking gasoline contributed to the extensive spread of the fire. On Wednesday, the Fire Marshal's Office believed the fire started by an electrical malfunction of a hybrid vehicle. However, as the investigation continued, the cause of the fire was updated to undetermined.
