(KRON) -- A mother and her five-year-old son who disappeared in Oakland two weeks ago have been found and are safe, police announced Thursday. Mikala King, 29, and her son, King Scott, went "missing due to unknown circumstances," the Oakland Police Department wrote Wednesday. On Thursday morning, OPD wrote, "Thanks to our community and media partners, Mikala King and King Scott are no longer missing persons. They have been safely located." Police did not release any additional information.
