School employee had gun, ammunition on Upstate NY school campus, deputies say

Ovid, N.Y. — A school employee was arrested Tuesday after he was found keeping a gun and ammunition unsecured on a school campus in Seneca County, deputies said.A long rifle and ammunition were found in a maintenance building in Ovid by a school resource officer for the senior and junior high schools, according to a joint news release from the South Seneca School District and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. Officials did not give the address where the gun was found or if it was at the high school or middle school.
