WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The City of Westfield is discontinuing the leaf pickup service this fall. According to the City, the Department of Public Works is canceling curbside leaf pickup due to the increasing costs, and shortages of equipment and staff. A look at fall foliage in the Berkshires Residents can bring their bagged leaves to the parking lots at City Hall or Sadie Knox through Saturday, December 7th. The locations are marked with signs and are subject to closing during inclement weather. The Twiss Street transfer station is also open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. to collect bagged leaves with proof of residency. The City says a landfill permit sticker is not required to drop off leaves. Leaves must be in paper bags and not contain any foreign or objectionable items.
