SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) — A used-car dealer, who allegedly scammed more than two dozen people in Swansea, will be held on $100,000 bail. 46-year-old Edward Cicciu is facing a slew of charges, including similar scam charges in Taunton. Cicciu owns Bristol County Auto Exchange on Grand Army Highway in Swansea. Police allege Cicciu would receive loans from a local auction to get cars, but he never paid the loan. As a result, Cicciu never received the title to the vehicles. Cicciu would then allegedly sell the cars that were not paid off with doctored titles and registrations. Police said he would then cut all ties with the buyer and never respond to the auction. So far, a total of 25 people have reported to police that they’ve been advantage of by Cicciu. He now faces a total of 35 charges. Cicciu pleaded not guilty in Fall River District Court. Swansea police said anyone who believes they’ve been a victim of Cicciu can call Officer Donald Dibiasio at 508-674-8464. Categories: News
