Oct 03, 2024
(WPRI) — Leaf-peeping season is here, and Massachusetts is making it easier to check out all of the fall foliage.
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) launched a new interactive Fall Foliage Map to help residents and visitors plan out their viewing trips.

The map will give updates on peak foliage conditions across the state.
"Our parks come alive in the fall, and we want everyone to have the best opportunity to experience the beauty of Massachusetts' natural landscapes," DCR Commissioner Brian Arrigo said in a press release. "The new interactive foliage map will make it easier than ever to enjoy the season, whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a day trip to one of our parks."
On the map, users can select a date to see where the leaves will be at peak color change.
The DCR forestry staff predicts that most of the state will see peak colors in mid-October, with certain spots in Western Massachusetts peaking slightly earlier.
