Jefferson Parish to collect cleaning supplies for hurricane victims

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Jefferson Parish leaders have announced that the parish will host a hurricane relief drive for those impacted by Francine and Helene.
Residents can head to the Joseph S. Yenni Building at 1221 Elmwood Park Blvd., the General Government Building at 200 Derbigny St. or the Jefferson Parish Surplus Building at 920 David Drive to donate cleaning supplies and toiletries.
Friday Night Lights shine on Ed Daniels Field
Parish leaders said items needed at this time include bleach, disinfectants, gloves, scrub brushes, sponges, buckets, trash bags, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, diapers, personal toiletries, toothbrushes and paper towels.
Residents can drop off supplies at any location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Oct. 7 through Oct. 18.
Disaster food assistance now available for Jefferson Parish
Parish officials said the supplies will be taken to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana to be transported.
