APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - After a suspicious vehicle, allegedly involved in drug activity, fled from officers in Menasha, drones helped to find two suspects who left the scene of a crash in Appleton. According to the Menasha Police Department, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle hidden in a concealed area during the early morning hours of October 1. Officers approached the vehicle after suspecting possible drug activity, however, the vehicle fled and a pursuit began. After a brief pursuit, it was called off. Casco man arrested by Wisconsin State Patrol for fourth OWI Shortly after, the suspicious vehicle was found, crashed and abandoned, by officers in Appleton. Officers say that two drones were utilized for an aerial search and the Winnebago County Sheriff's K9 Unit helped to find the passenger. The driver was found with the help of the drones, and both suspects were taken into custody. We would like to thank the Appleton Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Calumet County Sheriff's Office for their assistance.
