(U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.) — The U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) is scheduled to rally around a bonfire in the Cadet Area ahead of its Saturday, Oct. 5 game against the U.S. Naval Academy. The bonfire is scheduled to happen on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is closed to the public but USAFA said in previous years the fire was visible from I-25. Academy firefighters and response vehicles will be present as a precaution. USAFA said the event is a morale-builder for cadets and is an annual event that takes place before the game with rival Navy. The event includes participation from senior leadership, the U.S. Air Force Academy Band, and food trucks. The Air Force vs. Navy Game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. kickoff on Saturday at Falcon Stadium.
