Armed robbery at UB under investigation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A reported armed robbery at UB early Thursday morning is under investigation, according to the school.
Police said that two students were approached around 12:40 a.m. Thursday by three unknown people near the Creekside Village Apartment's on UB's North Campus. Officials said one person was punched in the head and had their cell phone and wallet stolen, while the other victim reported their jacket was taken.
Police said the victims told them they displayed what appeared to be handguns, but they were possibly fake or plastic weapons.
The three suspects are described as Black males, one wearing a black Nike sweat suit with burgundy shoes, one wearing a black Nike sweat suit with black shoes, and another wearing a grey sweat suit with black shoes. All three wore ski masks.
The victim that was punched was evaluated but declined transport. The other victim was not hurt.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call UB Police at (716) 645-2222.
