ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) -- September might not have finished well for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, but the quarterback's monthlong performance was of award-winning quality. Allen was selected as AFC offensive player of the month on Thursday. It is the third time in Allen's career he has received the award, but the first in many months. The other occasions came during the 2020 season. In leading the Bills to a 3-1 start over the first month of the season, Allen led all AFC quarterbacks in passer rating (116.5) and total touchdowns (nine), without throwing any interceptions. Allen's 101 pass attempts without an INT to start the season are the most by a Bills quarterback since Joe Ferguson in 1976. ‘Freak of nature’ Josh Allen has most weekly awards of any NFL player since '18 *** Jonah Bronstein joined the WIVB squad in 2022 as a digital sports reporter.
