BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - Imagine coming home and finding an alligator in your driveway. That is what happened to Belinda Clarkson on Tuesday, Oct. 1. She found the alligator after arriving a little before 6:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Bayou Plantation Drive. Clarkson said she called the Addis Police Department and they arrived minutes later. She said the gator "was hit by a car while we were standing outside waiting for the police to arrive." According to Clarkson, Addis PD tried to remove the alligator from her property several times but was not successful. She said that "each time they poked him with a stick of some sort or threw a towel over his head he raised up to attack them." Big alligator knocks on front door of Louisiana home, sits on porch, swims away Police estimated that the alligator was around three feet long. They said that "it was a little feisty" when law enforcement was trying to remove it. They said that eventually the alligator was removed from the property and taken behind the levee. "They had a guy that deals with them come and relocate the alligator," Addis PD said. An alligator is observed crossing a road in the Sugar Mill Plantation subdivision.
