Body found along river, identified as Baton Rouge man wanted in connection to murder

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A body found along the Mississippi River bank in Addis was identified as a Baton Rouge man who is wanted by law enforcement.
The West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said a partially decomposed body was found around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Addis.
In an update, the sheriff's office identified the body as Kirk Craig Sr., 63, of Baton Rouge. WBRSO said an autopsy was conducted and medical records were used to positively identify the body.
The post said detectives also learned that Craig was wanted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office in connection to a first-degree murder that happened 12 days earlier. According to the post, a vehicle linked to Craig was found abandoned on the interstate over the Mississippi River in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The body was spotted by a fisherman and was recovered by the WBRSO Flotilla.
