Where, how to donate new socks for Baton Rouge families
Oct 03, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Family Resource Group, Inc. in Baton Rouge has kicked off its 20th annual "Sock It To Me!" Holiday Sock Drive, running through Dec. 6.
The campaign started when Amy Plaisance, founder of Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, discovered that socks were the most requested item by homeless shelters and community outreach organizations. So for two decades, it's been their mission to provide new socks to individuals and families who need them most.
The group has teamed up with several local businesses, schools, churches, organizations and the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Library. The public can donate new socks by dropping them off at collection bins located at any library branch.
