ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run on Lyell Avenue late Wednesday night. Rochester police said the adult man was in the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle heading west on Lyell Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead. His identity has not been revealed. The striking vehicle was not at the scene. Drivers and pedestrians can expect Lyell Avenue to be closed to traffic until at least 6 a.m. Anyone with information on this hit and run is asked to call 911.
