As a former campaign opponent of Ari Ioannides when we both ran for a seat on the Park City School Board, I got to know Ari. I was fortunate to win that election because he was equally, if not more, qualified than I. During the campaign, he exhibited integrity, civility and a true desire to contribute to this community. What really impressed me after the election was that Ari demonstrated his continuing commitment to the school district and its students by serving both on the Education Foundation and on board search committees in order to better our schools and serve our students. After I left the board, I stayed a huge admirer of Ari’s leadership skills, financial savvy, and commitment to community affairs. Ari has worked for us by serving on a number of community groups and boards, including those that support fire prevention and response, open space advocacy, and innovative early education initiatives, just to highlight a few. And my family and I, like many of you, have benefited from the outstanding work Ari has done as executive director of the Park City Institute, bringing concerts and entertainment to our community, not to mention the tremendous student outreach efforts the institute undertook under this leadership. Moreover, in doing all this work, Ari has demonstrated fiscal responsibility and restraint, which is extremely important in my view. I can’t imagine a more qualified candidate for County Council, and I urge you to vote for him.Charles CunninghamSnydervilleThe post From rival to fan appeared first on Park Record.
