Providence City Council votes in favor of relocating bus hub

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence City Council has passed an amendment to relocate the Kennedy Plaza Bus Hub.
On Wednesday, the Providence City Council Ordinance Committee voted unanimously in favor of moving the bus hub away from Kennedy Plaza, and removing it from the comprehensive plan.
The 195 Commission has discussed an agreement with RIPTA over a possible location for the transit center, and Clifford Street is the location being discussed.
Back in September, 22 individuals were issued arrest warrants after a narcotics investigation.
There will be additional public hearing on the proposed comprehensive plan will take place on Wednesday, October 9 at 5:30 p.m.
