High pressure brought us cool Wednesday air and is moving east today. Winds will be southwesterly today, bringing us warmer temperatures for the day. Temperatures this morning are in the 40s, which is certainly a chilly start to the day. Have that jacket handy heading out to work. Temperatures rebound rather sharply throughout the day, so you won't need your jacket this afternoon. Throughout this morning, temperatures climb. We reach the 60s before lunchtime. We will see plenty of sunshine throughout the day under sunny skies. Under these sunny conditions, high temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 70s across the area. Truly a great day to enjoy the outdoors. While high temperatures will be above average, it will still feel quite nice. An above-average afternoon with a high in the upper 70s for the Summit City. For Friday, we'll see partly cloudy skies with the passage of a cold front, but without the cold, as temperatures are warmer on Saturday. We'll see plenty of weekend sunshine. Highs get into the mid-to-upper 70s for the area on Saturday. On Sunday, we'll reach the 80 degree mark with a warm front moving through. As of now, Sunday looks to be dry. This warmth will not stick around as the system moves a couple cold fronts through Sunday night. Early October average highs are in the upper 60s to around 70°. Over the weekend, though, we'll be closer to 80°. After the passage of the Sunday cold fronts, temperatures return to more seasonable averages, with the start of the next workweek in the mid-to-upper 60s.
