ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A woman was shot on Weyl Street Wednesday night, Rochester Police Department confirmed. Rochester police responded to Weyl Street near Joseph Avenue around 8:19 p.m. for the report of a ShotSpotter activation and found a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The woman was transported to Strong Hospital by AMR where she is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unknown, and there are no suspects in custody at this time. Rochester police blocked off a portion of Weyl Street near Joseph Avenue and are investigating the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 911. This investigation is ongoing.
