Providence College Press Release PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men’s basketball 2024-25 schedule was announced today (Oct.   2) with times and broadcast assignments.  For the first time in the history of the program, the Friars will play national television games on CBS, NBC and FOX all in the same season.  It also will mark the first time ever the Friars have had a game televised on Peacock and the first time the team has played a game on NBC since the 1997-98 season. The Friars will play 11 non-conference games to open the 2024-25 season. Providence will begin the season at the Amica Mutual Pavilion against Central Connecticut State on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m.  FS1 will have live look-in coverage of the game as part of BIG EAST Opening Night Tipoff. The FS1 coverage will showcase all eight league teams in action, while the Fox Sports app will provide full game coverage. In addition to their home opener versus Central Connecticut, the Friars’ other home games will be versus Stonehill on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6:00 p.m. on FS2, Hampton on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. on FS1, Green Bay on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 5:00 p.m. on FS2, Delaware State on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. on FS2 and BYU on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1 in the Big 12/BIG EAST Battle. The team’s lone road game during the non-conference season will be at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, Dec. 7 on CBS Sports Network (time is TBA). In the team’s first neutral site contests of the season, the Friars will play three games in the Battle 4 Atlantis scheduled for Nov. 27-29 in Paradise Island, Bahamas. The Friars will open the tournament versus Oklahoma on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 5:00 p.m. on ESPN2. On Thanksgiving day the Friars will face Arizona or Davidson at 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.  Providence will close out the tournament on Friday, Nov. 29 versus Louisville, Indiana, West Virginia or Gonzaga (time and TV are TBA). In another neutral site game on Saturday, Dec. 14, the Friars will face St. Bonaventure at 5:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network in the Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut in the Friars’ final non-conference game of the regular season. The Friars will play their BIG EAST home opener versus St. John’s on Friday, Dec. 20 at 8:00 p.m. on FOX.  Providence’s other BIG EAST home matchups will be versus Marquette on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 6:00 p.m. on FS1; versus Butler on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 8:30 p.m. on Peacock; versus Seton Hall on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 5:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network; versus Georgetown on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 12:30 p.m. on FOX; versus Creighton on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1; versus Xavier on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8:00 p.m. on Peacock; versus Villanova on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6:00 p.m.  or 8:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network; versus UConn on Saturday, Mar. 1 at 12:00 p.m. on CBS; and versus DePaul on Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 6:30 p.m. on FS1. The team will play 10 league road games. The Friars’ BIG EAST road opener will be at DePaul on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1.  The team’s other nine league road games will be at UConn (Gampel Pavilion) on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2:00 p.m. on NBC; at Creighton on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1; at Villanova (Wells Fargo Center) on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. on FS1; at Seton Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m. on Peacock; at St. John’s (Madison Square Garden) on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network; at Butler on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 3:00 p.m. on Peacock; at Georgetown on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7:00 p.m. on FS1; at Marquette on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m. on FS1; and at Xavier on Saturday, Mar. 8 on FOX or FS1 (time is TBA).
