(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A special event took place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to honor police officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. The Police Foundation of Colorado Springs organizes the annual Medal of Valor dinner every year, to mark the bravery and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who kept true to their vow to protect and serve. At the 39th annual event on Wednesday, 33 local officers received 36 medals on Wednesday for their work in the community.
