DICKINSON, ND (KXNET) — The Southwest Area Career and Technical Education Academy (SWCTE) in Dickinson will have its grand opening Friday, and Governor Doug Burgum will be in attendance. The SWCTE is one of 13 career academy projects across the state that received a total of $88 million. The funding was approved by Burgum and the state Legislature in 2021. Find the Good Life looks to solve the workforce issue The academy is a partnership of seven high schools and Dickinson State University, and it offers 14 program areas in career and technical education, which help train students for careers that are in-demand. This, in turn, helps address North Dakota's workforce challenges. The grand opening will be Thursday, October 3rd at 4:30 p.m. central time in Building C of the SWCTE in Dickinson.
