ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A ribbon cutting was held in Henrietta Wednesday to celebrate the new Marketplace Senior Apartments.
The project got over $40 million in state funding, and just shy of $1 million will be used to install green energy technology and features.
A resident spoke about his experience there Wednesday.
"Thank you to all of you for making it possible for us senior citizens," resident Bishop John Parker said. "We get to a certain age and it seems like time and people have forgotten us, but you took your time and made it possible for us to live in dignity, the last thing, a senior citizen wants, is to live in dignity."
The development is part of a partnership between Rochester's Cornerstone Group and Catholic Charities Family and Community Services. There are 150 apartments in the complex. Click here for more information.
