LEE, Mass. (WWLP) - It's the beginning of the fall and we are already seeing some of that fall foliage out there especially in the Berkshires. The Berkshires is literally known for its fall foliage. People travel from all over just to see it. This not only benefits many businesses but it also brings together a large community of nature enthusiasts. Massachusetts county ranks among best destination for fall foliage This is a popular time for many people to make their way to Massachusetts. Here in the state, the leaves start to change at the end of September and in the beginning of October is when the leaf peeping begins. 22News spoke with Barbara from the Berkshires who explains what the fall season is like in the area, "It's gorgeous! We call them the leaf peepers, that is the people that come up and a lot of people come up from Texas because there are no maple trees there. A lot of people come up from this area and will stay weekends or more than that. The colors are just changing and it is gorgeous." She says there is nothing like a crisp autumn day in the Berkshires.
