ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police said a security guard assigned to the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD) building in Albuquerque shot a man who was trespassing and attacked the guard outside the facility Tuesday night. Police said the Securitas Security Services guard confronted Casey McCray who was sleeping on the property and told him to leave. McCray grabbed a can of bear spray from his backpack and sprayed the security guard, NMSP added. Arresting deputy refuses to testify in DWI license hearing The security guard then fired at least one round from his duty firearm, hitting McCray. McCray was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. He is in stable condition as of Wednesday evening, police said. The security guard was interviewed and released by police. Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
