Seven Utah hotels have been included in the Michelin Key Hotels list, and, notably, Montage Deer Valley, Pendry Park City and Stein Eriksen Lodge each received “One Key” distinction. Washington School House Hotel earned “Two Key” honors.Much like the vaunted Michelin Star system for restaurants, the Key list recognizes select hotels throughout the world, rating them as “one” (very special), “two” (exceptional) or “three” (extraordinary) Key stays, according to the Utah Office of Tourism.Sundance Resort also received “One Key” honors. ULUM Moab also earned “Two Key” honors, and Amangiri in southern Utah at Canyon Point achieved the highest mark with a “Three Key” honor. Amangiri is one of just 16 Three Key-hotels in the United States. Michelin calls the resort “one of the most exceptional and most exclusive hotels on this list,” according to the Utah tourism office. Michelin experts rated the hotels based on five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.“Utah’s natural beauty is unmatched,” said Utah Office of Tourism Managing Director Natalie Randall. “Many of our finest accommodations are set against some of our most breathtaking landscapes, including the Utah hotels on the Michelin Key Hotels List.
