DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — A former Dartmouth police officer has been convicted of child rape, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III. Shawn Souza was found guilty following a three-day jury trial Wednesday of two counts of aggravated rape of a child, rape of a child by force and indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. Souza was arrested back in April 2019 following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Bristol County District Attorney's Special Victims Unit.
