NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Crews with the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a fire that involved four buildings in the Lower Garden District on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Five displaced after crews respond to fire at two Marrero homes The New Orleans Fire Department reported that crews were dispatched to a four-alarm fire in the 1800 block of Hastings Place around 1:57 p.m. (WGNO/Jeff Kent)(WGNO/Jeff Kent)(WGNO/Jeff Kent)(WGNO/Chris Carter) NOFD officials said the fire impacted four buildings, and at least people have been displaced. Firefighters said all residents either safely escaped or were not home when crews arrived. According to the NOFD, two firefighters were injured. No other injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and residents were advised to avoid the area while crews worked to get the fire under control.
