MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — Crews with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department responded to a fire that impacted two homes in Marrero on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office holds retirement ceremony for mounted unit horse According to the JPFD, the fire started at a home on Avery Drive around 12:30 p.m. and spread to another home nearby. JPFD officials said the first home suffered heavy damage, and the second home suffered moderate damage. (WGNO/Jeff Kent) No injuries were reported. However, crews say five people have been displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Red Cross assisted residents at the scene.
