Five displaced after crews respond to fire at two Marrero homes

MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — Crews with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department responded to a fire that impacted two homes in Marrero on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

According to the JPFD, the fire started at a home on Avery Drive around 12:30 p.m. and spread to another home nearby.
JPFD officials said the first home suffered heavy damage, and the second home suffered moderate damage.

No injuries were reported. However, crews say five people have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Red Cross assisted residents at the scene.
