JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — A Greenwood man is in jail after sexually abusing a child for years. James William Thomas, 37, was charged with child molesting and child seduction. According to court documents, Thomas forced a child to watch porn. He eventually begin fondling and further sexually attacking the child. Thomas would force the kid to stay home and draw baths that he would take with the victim. 21 men arrested in child sex sting in Greenwood Thomas told the victim that the attacks would make them "stronger" and "better." The attacks occurred several times per week from 2019-2024. Police were alerted after a tip from an e-mail on August 21, 2024 and an investigation ensued. In addition to the arrest of Thomas, an additional suspect, 36-year-old Meghan R. Lucas was arrested because she reportedly knew that the abuse was going on, but failed to say anything to authorities. Lucas was charged with two counts of Neglect of Dependent, two counts of Obstruction of Justice, and two counts of Failure to Report. Officers served a digital warrant and collected evidence that corroborated the victims claim. 32 people arrested in child sex sting On May 12, 2022, Thomas was arrested in Johnson County during a law enforcement child solicitation sting.
