GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Not many museums host artists and authors in team presentations, especially those featuring a wildlife book for children, but the Neville Public Museum offered just that to families on Wednesday. Award-winning author and former Local 5 employee Warren Gerds and Lakewood-based artist Joan White were present from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., offering programs and exploring the details of the fascinating creation of their book, A Friendly Tree. Lakeshore College showcases advanced mobile manufacturing lab "Youngsters enjoy finding all the animals that are woven into the art," said Gerds. "Joan has included 170 critters in her images that help tell the story of the life of a special tree." Admission was free to Brown County residents during the extended hours of 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. White displayed a work in progress, a sketchbook, and her techniques. Gerds, on the other hand, displayed nine of his books on varied topics.
