GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The 2025 NFL Draft is expected to be one of the most significant events Green Bay has ever hosted, and to enhance the experience for guests, officials approved an ordinance allowing beer and seltzers to be sold in city parks. Vendors will now be able to sell fermented alcohol in city parks after the Green Bay City Council approved the ordinance. Local 5 News spoke with Dan Ditscheit, the Green Bay Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director, to discuss the ordinance further. Green Bay Packers searching for part-time & seasonal employees by hosting two walk-in job fairs in October "This was initially thought of for a special event, in particular, the draft, so there's an interest on the city's end to maybe set up a beer tent in the parks for special events that we're going to host in addition to what the Packers are going to be doing at Titletown and Lambeau Field," explained Ditscheit. Final 2024 Frogger event to take place throughout Brown County on National Walk to School Day While the ordinance was centered around the 2025 NFL Draft, Ditscheit says it will benefit future events throughout Green Bay. "The ordinance can work for other special events where there's a desire to have a beer tent or some other activity like that," added Ditscheit. "What's nice about that is that it brings in a little additional revenue for the city of Green Bay as part of this."
