Chemical plant employee in Donaldsonville hurt after incident, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Officials say an employee at a chemical plant in Donalsonville was injured after an incident on Wednesday.
Chris Close, senior director of corporate communications at CF Industries, said an employee was injured around 1:45 p.m. The status of the injury is unknown at this time.
At the time of the incident, onsite medical personnel responded and assessed the employee's injuries, Close said. The employee was taken to a local hospital.
"This was an isolated incident with no related operational issues or offsite impacts. Our focus is on the injured employee, ensuring all resources are available to their family during this time, and supporting our Donaldsonville team," the chemical plant said in a statement.
No further details of the employee's identity or injury were released at this time.
CF Industries is a nitrogen complex located on Louisiana Highway 3089 in Donaldsonville.
