SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Mother Nature has the heat cranked way up on the San Francisco Bay Area this week with a fall heat wave. Multiple records were broken on Tuesday for daily highs, the National Weather Service reported. In San Jose, Tuesday afternoon's 100-degree temperatures broke a previous record from 1980, the NWS said. San Rafael also set a new record with a 105-degree high, along with Santa Rosa at 102 degrees, and Kentfield at 100 degrees. "It was an impressively hot one across the region," KRON4 Meteorologist John Shrable said. Wednesday's weather pattern will not bring any relief. Some spots of the Bay Area will be hit with a second round of triple-digit, record-breaking highs Wednesday afternoon, Shrable said. Shrable said, "Another scorcher of a day with daytime highs climbing well into the 90's and 100's again.  After shattering records yesterday, daytime highs again today will be record-breaking for many areas." An Excessive Heat Warning issued by the National Weather Service will remain in effect through 11 p.m. Thursday. Along the coastline, a Heat Advisory was extended through Thursday night. When will the Bay Area heat wave end? "Heatwaves often have more severe health impacts as they continue, even if temperatures are lower, due to the cumulative stress from the previous day," the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management wrote.
