SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Wednesday calls for hot conditions with clear and sunny skies. Daytime highs will be mostly in the 80s to 90s on the coast, in the 80s to 100s around the bay, and in the 100s to 110s inland. The National Weather Service has extended the excessive heat warning has been extended through 11 p.m. Thursday for inland portions of the Bay Area, Central Coast and the City of San Francisco. The heat advisory directly along the coastline has also been extended through 11 p.m. Thursday. "Another scorcher of a day with daytime highs climbing well into the 90s and 100s again," said KRON4 Meteorologist John Shrable. "Again, shattering records yesterday, daytime highs again today will be record-breaking for many areas making this some of the hottest October weather that some parts of the Bay Area have felt in years." Graphic: National Weather Service Forecasters say that while there will be some pockets of cooling along the coast on Wednesday, most of the region will experience hot conditions, especially inland or mountain areas. Heat Risk is expected to rise in the region, with interior locations and mountains reaching Extreme Heat Risk. The National Weather Service is warning of "dangerously hot conditions" with daytime highs reaching up to the mid 100s. Further inland, temperatures may reach of to 110. Overnight temps will remain warm in the lower 70s to lower 80s. The hot conditions, according to the NWS, could cause life-threatening impacts or major impacts to commerce or travel. There are potentially critical fire weather conditions on Wednesday and Thursday (and beyond) across portions of the interior Central Coast. When will the Bay Area heat wave end? With the excessive heat warning extended through Thursday, the heat is set to stick around for a couple more days. Thursday will still be "oppressively" hot, according to Shrable. While Friday will see a further cooldown, we really won't see a return to normal temperatures until early next week, according to Shrable. Bay City News contributed to this report.
