SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – After disruptions in school operations due to Hurricane Helene, the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) will return with e-learning days on Thursday and Friday.
All athletic events will remain canceled for the remainder of the week and weekend. Updates regarding any rescheduled games will be available online at sccpss.com.
The district has been closed due to the damage and power outages brought on by the storm in the area.

In a statement, SCCPSS said:
No student will be penalized for inability to participate in any of the E-Learning Days throughout this emergency weather event. Extended or alternative opportunities to complete assignments will be provided to ensure students are marked present.
The goal, SCCPSS said, is to return to in-person learning on Monday. That is subject to change, however, and another update will be provided no later than 6 p.m. on Friday, officials said.
