PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Hospital experienced a power outage at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday and is on diversion, according to a statement from Lifespan. According to the statement, both electrical feeds from Rhode Island Energy to the facility went down and backup generators were activated. This allowed the hospital to maintain essential operational and patient care functions. The hospital is in the process of transitioning to a secondary power source from Rhode Island Energy, which will take several hours. Categories: News, Rhode Island
