LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The work to restore a power outage isn’t easy, but that doesn’t stop linemen from completing the task. “It’s been a chaotic past few days, but I’ve been really proud of our team and the efforts we’ve made to get people’s power back on,” Vice President of Davis H. Elliot Services Jake Green said. “We’re having to work off equipment, doing manual work where you see people having to climb poles, the skillsets of our team and our linemen are really impressive, and the work that they can do not many can,” Green adds. Through flood waters, debris and blocked roads, these workers have travelled miles and worked through some of the toughest conditions. “Some of these areas that we work in are really difficult and we’re throwing everything we can to help get people’s power on and do it safely,” he said. While the rain and storms have slowed down, the work to restore power across the bluegrass has not. “We hope to make a really strong effort through the end of this week, but then even weeks thereafter there’s going to be a lot of cleanup work,” Green said. Green also wants to continue warning people to stay away from those downed power lines as they work to fix the thousands that fell during the storms.
