LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department has confirmed two new cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, this past week. This recent confirmation brings the total number of cases to 69 since the outbreak began in April. Health officials continue to monitor the situation and are urging the public to be aware of the symptoms associated with the contagious respiratory disease.
