INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a body was found on the city's near northeast side. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the area of E. 21st Street and Sheldon Street just after 10 a.m. on report of a person down. This is a relatively secluded side street located near a metal fabrication plant. Scene near 21st and Sheldon streets where a body was found on Oct. 2, 2024. Officers arriving on scene confirmed an adult male was found dead. The man reportedly had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Police said the deceased was located along the roadway and was spotted by a passerby who called 911 to report a person down. Police said it is unclear how long the man was lying by the road. At this time, no additional details have been released as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
