Police arrest 3 suspects accused of shooting into Logansport home, wounding woman

LOGANSPORT, Ind. – Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a Logansport woman in the hospital.
According to the Logansport Police Department, three masked individuals showed up around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 3000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
The female shooting victim told police the three were looking for her juvenile son. As they were leaving, she went back into the house to call 911. Three rounds were then fired into the home, with one of the shots hitting the woman.
She suffered what police described as non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an out-of-town hospital.
Logansport police arrested 21-year-old Christopher Zarate, 18-year-old Edward Cook and a 17-year-old in connection with the shooting.
Preliminary charges include aggravated battery and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, both felony counts.

SWAT was activated to serve two of the four search warrants obtained during the course of the investigation. The information provided critical in gathering information, police said.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department, Cass County Drug Task Force, Miami County Sheriff's Department, Cass County EMS and Logansport Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
