BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - The final of three 2024 Crosswalk Education and Enforcement events known as 'Frogger' will be taking place throughout Brown County on Wednesday, October 2. Wello's Yield to Your Neighbor campaign is set to continue on Wednesday afternoon in its third Frogger event of 2024. The October 2 event coincides with National Walk to School Day and is one week before Walk and Bike to School Day on October 9. West De Pere students raise thousands for pediatric cancer, receive big surprise when delivering checks During the event, Wello has partnered with local law enforcement agencies that will be stationed at multiple locations in Allouez, Ashwaubenon, Bellevue, Denmark, De Pere, Hobart, Howard, Green Bay, Pulaski, Suamico, and the UW-Green Bay campus. Officials say that vehicles will be stopped for failing to follow the law of yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk, which can result in warnings or tickets at the officer’s discretion. The first two Frogger events of the year, held June 27 and August 22, resulted in a combined 199 warnings issued and 1,472 vehicles correctly yielding to pedestrians for an 88% compliance rate.
