(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The Fountain Police Department (FPD) said during an increased enforcement of expired vehicle registrations officers found a vehicle with over a pound of illegal drugs. According to FPD, during the week of Sept. 22 to Sept. 28 for the enforcement surge of expired vehicle registrations, one traffic stop led to the arrest of two people on Friday, Sept. 27. On Friday, just before 11 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle with an expired temporary registration tag. During the stop, K9 Odin was deployed and alerted to the presence of an unknown narcotic within the vehicle. Courtesy: Fountain Police Department Police searched the vehicle and seized over a pound of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, and a handgun. Both the driver and passenger were booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on several felony charges related to drugs and weapons.
