AUSTIN (KXAN) -- An Austin Police officer was arrested in New Braunfels, and the agency said it was cooperating with the New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD), per a statement provided by APD.
NBPD said officers responded to a call to the 700 block of Tupelo Tank Drive where police determined there was a physical disturbance between a man and a woman.
"It was determined that the male was the aggressor, and he was taken into custody without incident," NBPD said.
The man was identified as 41-year-old Joshua Lugo, who was subsequently charged with Assault Bodily Injury/Family Violence.
Austin Police confirmed Lugo was an officer with the Austin Police Department.
"Per standard protocol, the Department has placed Officer Lugo on Restricted Duty and APD has initiated an administrative investigation into this incident," the statement from APD said.
