WORTHINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) -- A central Ohio building that once housed a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse has been purchased for more than $1.6 million. The building at 7550 High Cross Boulevard in north Worthington sold on Sept. 17 for $1,645,000, according to the Franklin County Auditor's Office. The property was purchased by Perez Family Holdings Limited, and was last sold in 2016 for just $650,000. The Florida-based company closed the Worthington location in February 2016 "due to changing marketplace dynamics." "We are looking to find another location in the Columbus community," said Michael O'Donnell, the company's previous CEO, at the time in a statement. In 2018, Ruth's Chris announced it would make its central Ohio return with a new location in the Short North at 55 N. High St., which opened in 2019.
